Dr Zeny Melissourgaki (DclinPsych, HCPC reg)
Clinical Psychologist
Dr Zeny is an HCPC accredited Clinical Psychologist, with a special interest in supporting people cope with important changes in their lives, early-life trauma and the healing power of human relationships, and the connection between mental health and social inequalities. In her NHS role, Dr Zeny splits her time between a psychological service for expectant and new parents and children’s social services, where she supports young people (16-25) leaving the care system. Dr Zeni has thus developed an in-depth understanding of the challenges that arise in the context of major life transitions, particularly in adolescence or young adulthood (e.g., identity formation), and in the perinatal period (e.g., postnatal depression).
At the same time, Dr Zeny has worked, both directly and indirectly, with children, young people, adults and families and with a range of mental health difficulties, from anxiety and depression to more enduring presentations (e.g., psychosis) and addiction (e.g., substance use, gambling). In her different professional roles, she has maintained a warm and compassionate approach to therapy. Dr Zeny appreciates how our early history and circumstances shape our relational patterns and how we see the world. She also considers how various aspects of our social identity (e.g., gender, race) and systems of power around us affect how we feel about ourselves and how we understand our experiences.
Drawing on several treatment models (cognitive behavioural therapy – CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy – ACT, dialectical behaviour therapy – DBT, systemic and narrative models, psychodynamic therapy) allows Dr Zeny to bring a range of ideas and tools to the therapeutic process. However, she is most interested in your story and in helping you tap into your unique strengths, aspirations and your own expertise in your life.
Dr Zeny’s fee is £120 per session.

I have had therapy with individuals affected by depression, anxiety, addiction, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, bereavement, eating disorders, physical health issues, and psychosis. Further, I have developed an expertise in helping those facing challenges in their workplace and suffering burnout. I have also offered them support with career development, coaching or mentoring about professional issues. My therapeutic work is both with individuals and couples.
In my therapeutic approach, I offer evidence-based therapy. In addition to my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I have a Diploma in Narrative Therapy (systemic practice) and I am eligible for the accreditation at the Institute of Narrative Therapy.
